I first fell in love with videography using my 1980's super 8mm film camera (if you know, you know!) but quickly discovered just how expensive getting film processed is (again IYKYK, except I'm willing to reveal that it's £120.00 for 3 minutes of footage, yikes!!) I still love using my super 8mm for the authenticity but I was thrilled to discover how modern cameras & editing software can replicate the key elements that make film feel so nostalgic. Another bonus being that I can still capture traditional 'documentary' style footage, alongside creating a super 8mm style film.
